Finnish!

(for a friend who is currently in Finland. Apa yg hubby u study jauh2 kat sana tu?)

Finland
A small country with only 5.4 million population
In 2006 (as usual, official report from EHSRE ni memanglah lambat keluar, maklumlah nak kumpul data from all European contries) which was just published last year;

- there were 3652 IUI-H (husband) and 758 IUI-D (donor)
- Of 3652 IUI-H, delivery rate was 7.1% (Germany, UK and Belgium tak reported pun, agaknya sikit sangat buat IUI. When I was in Hamburg the doctor whom I was doing atachment with did about 40 OPU and 40 ET but only 1 IUI in a week!)
- Of the deliveries - 88.8% were singletons, 10.9% were twins and 0.4% were triplets.

Finland does more IVF cycles than Malaysia
In 2006 alone;
- 18 IVF centres (12 were private) and ALL reported their results

- 9116 cycles (2849 IVF, 1927 ICSI, 3561 frozen ET, 385 egg donation) as compared to us (tak sampai 2000 cycles). In 1999 there were 7213 cycles and in 1992, 2331 cycles.

- pregnancy rates comparable to other European countries
# 27% per OPU of IVF and 26.8% per OPU of ICSI (Wow! They were so confident that the calculation was based on per OPU and not per transfer which would give a higher number to show off). For comparison, Germany reported 29.9% for IVF and 28.0% for ICSI while UK reported 28.9% for IVF and 30.1% for ICSI. Belgium 28.3% for IVF and 27.2% for ICSI). All these were per OPU. FYI, I only mention these 3 countries as I had had some IVF exposure/training/meeting there.

# 99.7% were either single or 2-embryos and the remaining 0.3% used 3 embryos. That was why their twin pregnancy rates were only 12.0% and triplets were 0.2% (itu pun from frozen embryos).

So, yes, my dear friend;
they were very careful in giving stimulation drugs
As multiple pregnancy is associated with many complications to the pregnant mother and her foetuses
.

I'm not sure pasal dia punya reimbursement,
Berapa cycles dapat free ya?

and...
...nak duduk sana lama2 sampai dapat Finnish PR status ke?
dah puas dengan snow, salmon n reindeer?
